I started doing crafts back in the 1980's. I am mostly a seamstress and
started making T-shirts. I then moved on to making sweaters from fabric,
and then on to the doll clothes.
I joined a doll-making group and started making dolls back in the late
90's. I drifted away from my sewing machine and have made all kinds of
dolls including sculpted dolls, and porcelain dolls, but my sewing machine
keeps calling me back.
I can make most any doll dress or clothing for a doll, even if I don't have
a pattern for a specific doll. I prefer making doll clothes and dolls over
sewing for people because I found I did not like the tailoring aspect of
sewing.
I can make heirloom doll clothing and love it when people bring me
fabric that was from a family member so that I may make doll clothes from
it. I once had a lady who brought me one of her nightgowns and I made doll
nightgowns out of it for her grand daughters.
I love dressing dolls and it also gives me the opportunity to have fun with
them.
