I started my journey into the world of glass in the late Seventies as
a means of relieving stress around the midnight hour when I would get
home from work as a police officer. I started pursuing my glass art
obsession full-time in the late Nineties and have been pushing the
boundaries ever since. Over that period I have been fortunate to have
studied with and learned from several internationally recognized glass
artists.

I have worked in all aspects of glass art but found that etching /
carving and fusing were equal on the "obsessive scale". My current
work melds etching and fusing. I love the shimmering rainbow effects
achieved by combining glass with enamels, luster’s and metal micas,
as well as the line work achieved through pen and ink, enamels, and
sandblasted etchings.

The natural beauty, which surrounds me in my studio in New
Hampshire, inspires much of my work. The seasonal changes of the
falling leaves and fern fronds, spring bloom colors, the horizon's edge
over the ocean on a summer evening seem to offer constant
inspiration for new designs.

My latest work was debuted at the 2008 League of NH Craftsmen
Fair at Sunapee, NH, this past August. This newest style of work is a
complete departure from my norm. After taking two classes at Corning
Glass Studio in NY, my passion and excitement for glass returned and
this latest work is a direct result. Glass powder, frit (crushed glass),
and tiny glass threads form miniature landscapes in an impression-
istic style.

Every day continues to be an adventure, when working in the
medium of glass.
